Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 322: The Spoils of the Season

Grateful for an absolutely perfect day filled with those I love the most. Grateful for the squeals of excitement at a dancing robot dog, the curiosity over new science books, the fully engaged two hours of lego building, the sweet mothering over a new doll, and the fact she wore her new pink helmet all day long as she zoomed and zoomed all over our house on her new blue scooter.

Grateful for the unplanned but truly appreciated mid-morning nap..talk about a holiday indulgence. Grateful for yummy food to nibble on...all day long. Grateful for the hot coco hangover coma that set in around 8pm tonight and the big big plans for the rest of the weekend to do nothing but play with cousins and ride her scooter.

Grateful to have won the best gift of the season...a decorated rock from her personal collection wrapped in a ribbon of her choosing…" I just knew you would love it, Mom!"

Grateful for a loving and chill companion who has made this low key Christmas exactly what I needed and probably the best of our entire marriage. Just enough to achieve holiday joy but not too much to push me over the edge. Forever grateful for the new focus that a Covid Christmas has provided. We are forever fans of less equals more and while our celebration this year has been minimal it was meaningful and that made all of the difference.

Grateful to be snuggling up with our happy exhausted kid to read a few new stories knowing today was a simple and loving success.
