Gratitude Practice 2014 Nov 9: Covers

Covers. Not bedding or blankets but songs made famous by one artist but then artistically reinterpreted by second artist. Sometimes the best way to spend a chilly Sunday evening in early November is to hang out with your lover and listen to moody covers. So often, I find that I enjoy the reinterpreted version of a song far better that the first run. This is not always the case as some classics should remain just that….a classic…but sometimes….mood and song permitting….I’ve got a lot of love and appreciation for those who can take a second or third pass at something great and produce something just as good as the first. Grateful for how technology has made music so much more accessible. Grateful that I can enjoy a broad collection of musicians and artists on demand and from the comforts of my favorite chair. Grateful that my overall CD collection and exposure to music dramatically increased when I met Burke. Grateful that I can share a few of our most recent favorites below. Should your interests be perked…google and youtube at will….
