Gratitude Practice 2014 Nov 8: H O P E…It Really Is A Thing With Feathers

H O P E. Today, I am grateful for hope. Sometimes, and more frequently in the last few weeks, when I close my eyes and take a quick breather, I picture myself wearing flippers and a brightly colored snorkel mask...and I'm happily swimming around in my own little kiddie pool full of...hope. Grateful for the endless opportunities connected to the unknown and the total confidence I have that God has a plan for me. Grateful to be watching so many big and little details fall into place. Never when or how I expect. Rarely according to my timeline. But hopeful in the future nonetheless. I believe Emily Dickinson said it best….“Hope” is the thing with feathers

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -

That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

Right now...I am happily floating in my very own pool of hope. So so so grateful for hope.
