Gratitude Practice 2024 April 26: The Power of the Yellow Iris

The first iris has bloomed in my yard and as expected it's always yellow. I love yellow iris as they remind me the most of my Grandma Emily. Yellow was her favorite color so it seems right that her flowers bloom in yellow first. Her kitchen was painted soft yellow. She always chose the yellow game piece and secretly hoarded yellow UNO cards however I don't think she knew anyone noticed. Yellow iris always makes me happy and grateful and somehow I believe they cosmically grant my grandmother’s permission to all of her other flowers to bloom in my garden. I anticipate the purple and burgundy and brown and white and peach iris will soon follow and the pink, white and fuschia peonies will burst on the scene in about two weeks. Tonight, grateful for yellow iris and the honored roll they plan in the garden landscape.
