Gratitude Practice 2023 Nov 3: My Team of Professional Kid Wranglers
Today was big. Our team hosted a mega service event for all seven of our elementary school sites and four of our teen programs. It was nothing short of an actual three ring circus of kid magic and I am brimming with gratitude and appreciation. Service projects. 7 kid created dia de los Muertos Ofrendas. A photo booth. Some bounce houses. Face painting. Kid friendly food. Doughnuts. And the best glow stick kid rave dance party this side of the Mississippi. My feet hurt but my heart is full and I would not want it any other way. This team. These people I get to hang with. My work family. My co-workers are absolutely incredible. Kind. Generous. Hard working. Creative. Resilient. So incredibly patient. Simply good to the core kind of people. Today, I watched our crew shine and step-up and show up and I am once again inspired. It's not just how they work but it's who they are as individuals. I feel grateful for them on a boring average nothing fancy Tuesday afternoon and extra grateful for them after a day like today. Grateful to watch them make a big difference in our little community. Grateful to be taught by them daily. Grateful for their heart and their hustle. Grateful to wrangle kids along with them. Grateful to need them. Grateful to know them. YouthCity for life!
