Grateful for the charming playful artwork and for the tiny numbered perforated square windows. Grateful for the daily anticipation, the daily curiosity, the daily wonder, and daily excitement. Grateful for our frequently repeated conversations about why you count backwards when you are counting down to something. Forever grateful for how her very expressive eyebrows communicate first doubt, then confusion and finally acceptance at this very strange approach to her beloved number line. Grateful for the guaranteed squeal when she pops open the tiny paper door to discover, yet again, a tiny crappy waxy bit of chocolate molded and shaped into an almost unrecognizable Christmas shape. Grateful for this silly advent calendar and the joy it's creating... without question it's THE best $1.99 I will spend all season
