Gratitude Practice 2023 Nov 22: Half-Way Hooky
About two weeks ago, I found myself in my office in downtown Salt Lake City with nothing to do. All meetings were over. All emails were answered. All prep was done for the next day's tasks. Had zero motivation to declutter my office and did not have enough time or energy to start a new project. So clearly the only answer was a Half-Way Hooky day with my best girl.
Grateful to have the ways and means to take off a bit early and surprise my kiddo. Grateful we were able to enjoy THE most perfect fall afternoon together…my favorite girl…in my favorite park…at my favorite golden hour…during a favorite fall season…nothing is better. Grateful for the gift of this little sidekick of mine and how she (for now) still thinks I'm cool and fun and smart and capable and kind. Grateful she loves this city park as much as I do. Grateful that she equally values and appreciates the power of a Half-Way Hooky day and I fully intend to break her out of the daily routine more often because it's just so good for the soul. I've never been more proud when she suggested we swing by “the sev” for some hot coco on the way home…this seemed like evidence that I must e doing something right.
