Gratitude Practice 2022 Nov 20: Underrated Snack Foods

Grateful for Nilla Wafers...a truly underrated snack food. You rarely think..."man, what sounds good right now is a handful of Nilla Wafers" BUT...if offered....if available...if you stumble upon a few...you will absolutely sneak one or two of them, pop them in your mouth and regret absolutely nothing. Powerful when paired with other items such as cream or banana pudding or ice cream sundaes… but the Nilla Wafers can proudly stand alone... thank you very much. Is this simple cookie primarily reserved for and popular with toddlers and the pre-school crowd?  Yeah. Sure. Probably. But, why should this stop you? Nillas are delicious and I have no problem admitting to this truth. Some may consider them plain...some may pass them up for other fancier Nabisco biscuits...some may be creeped out to realize they look and feel exactly what the fur-like material used for most muppets with flesh colored skin…kinda grainy…kinda soft…maybe a bit like an edible grade sugary sandpaper....but who cares...has this detail stopped you in the past? Nope. Not me. I like them and will absolutely number them in my growing gratitude list. Grateful for the unsuspecting snack foods…the old school treats…the foundational cookies that set the stage for so many others. Grateful for the steady snacks that just keep holding their own. Grateful for the simple crunch and grounding nature of Nilla Wafers.
